ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- WEB EX: A husband and wife from Orefield have been charged with evading taxes. Paul and Barbara Basile live in Orefiled, but run Lehigh Valley Non-Surgical, Inc., a chiropractor office in Allentown. They were arrested Wednesday.
The IRS alleges that for a period from 2003 through 2005 the Basiles didn't have taxes taken out of the money they earned both through their business. And starting in 1997, the IRS claims that they hid and didn't pay taxes on income that they earned from a rental property they own in Allentown.
Paul was charged with one count of conspiracy, five counts of tax evasion, and two counts of filing false income tax returns. Barbara was charged with one count of conspiracy, three counts of tax evasion, two counts of failure to file tax returns and two counts of filing false income tax returns.
