A Harris County man is accusing a Sugar Land chiropractor, a Bellaire anesthesiologist and a Woodlands rehab facility of malpractice.

Genaro Castro filed the complaint Mar. 1 in Harris County District Court against chiropractor Dr. Jason Schell and Houston Spine & Rehabilitation. Dr. Timothy Johnson, chiropractor; Dr. Michael Thompson, anesthesiologist; Dr. Robert Alan Moore and the Renaissance Surgical Center are also named in the suit.

According to the petition, Castro went to see Dr. Schell at the Houston Spine & Rehabilitation Center, complaining of pain in his neck, back and shoulder. In November 2008, Dr. Schell referred Castro to Dr. Moore, an anesthesiologist with expertise in pain management. In December 2008, Castro says Dr. Thompson manipulated his shoulder and neck while Dr. Moore put him under anesthesia.

In March 2009, Castro claims his shoulder still hurt so he received additional cervical blocks and underwent more manipulation, administered by Drs. Moore and Thompson. Later that year Castro says he was diagnosed with labrum and rotator cuff tears in both shoulders. He claims the injuries required surgery to repair.
