Lexington County, SC (WLTX) -- A 51-year-old West Columbia chiropractor was arrested Tuesday, after deputies say he inappropriately touched two female patients at his office.

According to Lexington County Sheriff's deputies, Ronald Jeffery Shows of Hummingbird Drive in West Columbia was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and battery after he was arrested at his practice on Leaphart Road in West Columbia.

Investigators said Shows "assaulted two female patients at his office by inappropriately touching their private parts." They say the victims were ages 23 and 35, and that the assaults were on separate occasions.

Deputies say on March 1, a 23-year-old woman said Shows touched her in a way Sheriff James Metts said "was not consistent with standard chiropractic therapeutic treatment." The woman reported the incident to deputies the next day.

A second victim, a 35-year-old woman, reported a similar incident on March 4 that she said occurred last December.
