A former Oskaloosa chiropractor convicted of sexual abuse returned to a courtroom on Monday to face two other charges against him.

Jason Ebelsheiser walked into a packed courtroom Monday afternoon shackled at the hands and feet.

He pleaded to two charges that were in addition to the charges for which he was already sentenced in January.

Ebelsheiser was charged with third-degree sexual abuse. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault with intent, an aggravated misdemeanor.

He also was charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, and pleaded guilty to the charge on Monday.

Ebelsheiser was convicted in October of one count of third-degree sexual abuse, two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and one count of tampering with medical records. The jury found Ebelsheiser not guilty on two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and was unable to determine a verdict on two other sexual abuse counts.

Ebelsheiser was handed a sentence in January of 12 years in, he received an additional 12-year sentence, but the two terms will run concurrently, which means he will not serve any additional time behind bars.

The judge asked Ebelsheiser about his decision to change his plea.

"She was a patient of mine, and I had made inappropriate contact with my hand in her genitalia or very close to that region," said Ebelsheiser.

The judge asked if he made contact with victim KS intending to commit a sex act.

"Yes," said Ebelsheiser.

The judge said, "In April 2008, you (Ebelsheiser) performed a sex act with victim BP and that sex act was performed by force or against the will of BP?"
